Right A-Way Movers

We hired a broker who hired this moving company, and for five months we waited for our stuff as they had excuse after excuse of why it was taking so long. Then, they told us that they had hired a third party driver, because they didn't have enough drivers, and that he stole all of our stuff. That guy has been to jail for this exact crime before, so I don't know how they were able to hire him. The owner of Right A-Way Movers (Joseph) said that we would get a refund. We filed a claim through their system but we learned that they had gone out of business and the claim company no longer worked with them. We tried to get the money from him, and after pretending to work with us for a while (but always putting us on hold and hanging up or rescheduling things), he stopped responding to us or the broker. We never even got our refund for the move, ($4,000), or any kind of compensation for the $37,000 worth of stuff we lost, including many sentimental items.

This company ruined our lives forever and they are still scamming people. I think they might even be starting a new company with a new name, so they can continue to scam people out of money.

Stay as far away from this company as you can and beware of others that are similar.

Move size: 3 Bedroom Home Service cost: $8000

Pick up went smoothly. I expected to go a few days without my stuff. I was surprised to get a call saying it will be early. Drop off came at 9:00pm and agreed with the driver the come back the next morning for actual drop off. There was only one guy delivering without a helper. I felt sorry for him. It took about 3 days to go through my stuff to make an assessment and realized I was missing a few items and ended up with someone else’s stuff. Then, after another couple of days, I unwrapped my tv and saw it was cracked. For the last 3 weeks both I and the the broker has been trying to contact this company with no response. I can’t get a phone call back from anyone. I am missing a box of tools, a farmer’s hook, and glass tops for tables. My 55” flat screen and floor lamp is broken. I just want to rectify this issue with them and they refuse to respond. My attorney will be my next step.

I unknowingly hired a broker (United Moving Company) to handle my move, who then hired Joseph/Right A-Way movers. To say they have made the whole experience a nightmare is an understatement. Joseph and team made every step of my move more difficult than it should have been. I booked my move in late June and was lead to believe that my items would be delivered within 3-7 business days of my pickup. After being told that my things would be picked up friday 7/23, I got a call from Joseph that thursday asking if they could pick my things up that day. I said no because i wasn’t done packing. I got a call at 6PM Friday 7/23 saying they wouldn’t make it that day and would come in the morning, which they did. The first major issue was with billing. My total came out to around $1700, with a down payment of $700 and two payments of $500 due at pickup and delivery. At pickup, the driver was misinformed and thought that another payment of $700 was due, which we paid because my parents were the only ones there as I had to work. In order to get this error figured out, I had to fight with the customer service representatives at United for three days- I kept being told that “there was a slight increase in my estimate because my things took up more room on the truck than anticipated” when, in fact, my things took up less space. Eventually that was figured out and we settled on a payment of $300 at delivery to even things out. When I arrived in Pittsburgh on August 1, I gave Joseph a call asking for an estimate on when my stuff would arrive. I had given a first available day of delivery as August 3, so I was expecting it to come that week. Joseph told me that my things were scheduled to be shipped out the next week and would probably arrive Thursday 8/12. I was disappointed but figured I could last until then. On friday the 6th, United called me and confirmed my things would be loaded and delivered the next week. By the time the 12th rolled around, I’d heard nothing and called to get an update. It wasn’t until then that I was told that there was “an issue with my truck” and my things were delayed. I then called Joseph, who was in California, and he essentially yelled at me and told me I had no common curtesy because it was so early in the morning for him. Obviously, this is incredibly unprofessional and no way to treat a paying customer. I was eventually told that my things would be loaded the next week. There were several more delays while my things were in transit and I could never get a clear answer as to where my things were or when they would arrive until my driver made it to Pittsburgh. Even still, he told me several days in a row that he would make it to me “tomorrow”, but didn’t end up showing up until 8/31. Delivery went fairly smoothly, but boxes clearly marked fragile were dented and badly damaged, furniture that the movers packed was broken and scratched, and the movers didn’t even offer to unpack/ set up my furniture- even though that was part of the agreement.

All in all, save yourself the stress and frustration and rent a van and move your things yourself.

First and foremost if I could give this company zero stars I would. Coming from a family of business owners, Joseph has no business trying to run a business. I will say that my move was booked through Atlantic moving co (broker) and Joseph (Right away movers) was hired to complete the move. I didn’t find out that right away movers were moving my items until the day of my move otherwise I would have canceled the move all together once I seen the company reviews the day of service. The pickup wasn’t terrible other than the fact that I had to pay more than what I was told initially for a 1 bedroom without living room furniture. Moving forward to the delivery date, I called Joseph to find out information on my delivery to see if he had an eta or where my items were. He didn't answer my calls. My boyfriend called and he answered they got into it pretty bad because we wanted an update as to where our items were since were in a new state with NOTHING. My boyfriends mom got involved he starts telling her a bunch of bs about how he’s a ufc fighter and he lied multiple times to her and the broker stating that he informed me of the updates and that he supposedly told me he had to attend a funeral and would be in touch with me. He never relayed this information to me but informed everyone else other than me that he wanted common courtesy for the funeral he was attending. I have the messages and call log none of this was relayed to me. He told my boyfriends mother to call him and she was not able to. I called and he told me I need to call him from 8-5 because it was 7pm. I told him he did not have to address me as such because mind you I'm in a different time zone and did not know what time it was where he was located so he hung up on me. Fast forward to the delivery, Joseph hired another company to handle the move who told me that I owe an additional 500 on top of what I was told was due. They were just as unprofessional and even said they wouldn’t work with Joseph again. My items were damaged when they arrived, boxes were torn and I also received a bag with someone else items because they load the truck with multiple deliveries and your items are only separated with a belt. Right away movers does not have a customer service line so you have to deal with the unprofessionalism of Joseph whenever you want information about your items and also the fact that your paying them. If you’re looking to book an out of state move Stay far away.

I moved from Huntsville Alabama to Dallas, Texas. I was given an estimate , but once everything was getting picked up, I had to leave my living room Furnature because the price was jacked up another $400. They lied about how long it would take. I was told 3 days by the driver, they took my things to the warehouse in GA. My things sat in GA for 13 days. They asked another carrier to bring my things to Texas (Academy Van Lines LLC). Most of my things were missing, and half things that I received were damaged. Academy van lines mixed my things up with another customers things. They were delivering their belongings to my apartment , I had to make them return it to the truck. They were dragging my dressers/ Matresses/ totes/ etc. they used no dolly until I asked. They were very rude. They did not finish the job and put up my bed. They tried to leave with my things still on the truck. When I called Joseph, he seems to be surprised, but he also sends me a photo of the way the guys were throwing the furniture on the truck (academy van lines) when he hired them to deliver 2 customers things to TX. Therefore he was aware of this situation. DO NOT HIRE this company to be responsible for delivering your things. My belongings (a bag) is still in josephs possession and I was told on January 24 that he would over night it to me. It is now March and I still do not have my hair bag! I was also told not to use the company insurance for my damaged items by Joseph because it would make the company look bad.

Having never done an out of state move, we had no idea what the process was.We unknowingly went through a broker who contracted with Right-a-way for the move. My daughters items were picked up and only after they were loaded on the truck were we told it would take a few days before she would be notified what the delivery date would be. Joseph’s explanation was that before items could be taken across state lines, they had to be processed which would take a few days. We found out the items were actually taken from Ohio to a warehouse in Georgia (which based on my understanding of geography is across state lines) before being taken to New York. The delivery was delayed a few days beyond what she had been guaranteed. She had to reschedule her flight out of town for her job as she was told if she couldn’t be present on the new date, her items would be stored and she would be charged a storage and redelivery fee. When her items were finally delivered, some items were missing, they tried to deliver some items belonging to someone else, and MANY items were damaged so badly they were no longer usable and had to be replaced (including her dresser and nightstands). The movers themselves at both ends were very friendly. Joseph, however, was unreachable to address any concerns. He never returned calls. If I could give negative stars as a review I would. I would encourage everyone to avoid this company!

Hired a broker called Diamond Pro Van lines that hired Right A-Way Movers. Goods left MI on December 20 and did not get to my house till 3 months later. Goods were damaged, i was not allow to count the boxes before signing and unloading. When I discovered I was 10 boxes short I tried to get hold of them. I was assured they have the items but they never got delivered and the company blamed me for loosing them. The owner is not formal at all and he's not above using denigrating words. He even said I can filed as many complains I want and it will never affect his business, For a company to say that its a indication they have been doing this kind of bad practice for long. The damaged and all the loss goods its so much that I could have buy new. Hoping people will read this and reconsider them.

If I could rate them with no stars I would. But this is making me add at least one star. They were horrible. They moved my parents from TN to FL. They came to the house with NO packing material even though my parents paid for it. My parents gave them a $20 tip and then was told they owed them an additional $250 for the long haul. Dad paid them the money and the drivers pocketed it claiming it was a tip. They got to FL and then claimed my parents owed them an additional $400 for a short haul. My dad paid it. They got to the house and unloaded damaged boxes. Damaged heirlooms and did nothing!!! We filed a claim and out of probably $5,000 worth of damage offered $86. PLUS on top of that they were missing quite a bit of their stuff. They are SO UNPROFESSIONAL and horrible to deal with. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HEARTACHE and do not use these people. If you need pictures I got a ton of them!!!

I am waiting for my stuff to be delivered. it was picked up on 29th October and still waiting. Supposed to be delivered on 3rd November. He blocked me. Prefer not to use this career. I am going to file case against them. In a conversation with attorney. I am waiting for my stuff till 18th December if i don't i will file the case also drop an email to attorney general of georgia. I and my wife are facing health issues because we are unable to cook and ordering food. we are expecting in some time.

In Sept.21 I hired my move through Military Moving Co., they hired Right A-Way Movers to pick up my items.Pick up was on Sept.27. My items were supposed to be delivered on Oct.4,21. That never happened. On Oct.7 I'm still waiting.Got a phone call and was told I would not get delivery unless I paid $ 300 more.In order to get delivery . I am missing 3 items : 1 Flatscreen TV, 1 TV Stand, 1 large framed picture. I am a 79 year old female, cancer patient. I contacted Joseph, was promised that my items would be returned to me. That never happened. It is now Dec.14 and Joseph is no longer communicating, no answer and no explanation. I am getting ready to file Law Suit against Joseph. This man needs to be held responsible . If I could give a 0 rating I would.

The worst experience ever. They took over a month to deliver my belongings moving from GA to Ny.;Have zero customer service skills. whenever i would call to inquiry about my delivery i was told he doesnt know, when my wife called he hang up on her stating he doesn't speak to women... my belongings where finally delivered way after the contract was breached. Now a new problem arise ,half our stuff was not sent ,i have 2 side tables no glass top, i have a bedroom dresser missing draws, missing my laundry basket ,baby highchair my newborn pictures and frame etc. Additional whatever is glass is broken . Stay Away from this company!!. if you notice the reviews all the bad ones are followed by 2-3 fake good ones.look at the pattern. All this young man had to do was communicate effectively and made sure All our belongings where sent.!!!.

I had called united moving on Aug 29th and told them I am ready for my delivery on Nov 1st..So united put me down for November 5th..which I wasn't happy..Now it is Dec 3rd and the contract is breeched..I have try to called the guy name Joe and I either get hung up on when I ask for him or he won't answer his phone .United keeps telling me that Joe says it's in transit. Georgia to TN isn't that fa. It's the holidays and all I want is my stuff. I can't even cook

Like many reviews if I could leave zero stars I would. I contracted with All American Moving, who then contracted with Right-A-Way. My items were picked up November 9th, given the distance of my location, I was told it would be 21 business days from earliest drop off date (I gave November 11th as the earliest pick up date). It then took 11 weeks (factoring holidays and weekends it was 45 business days). Once my items were delivered I was charged $875 extra for a distance fee which was maddeningly frustrating because there is not any distance, parking is very close (it only took 40 min to unload our items because the distance is so short). Many items were destroyed and missing. Throughout communication was horrible. I had to call repeatedly. I tried to leave a voicemail and the mailbox was full - I am certain the voicemail was full of furious customers. My family told me to call the police as they were certain my items were being stolen. Since I'm missing so many items, they're probably right. The experience of working with these movers was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. I'm calling relators, Yelp, social media.. anywhere I can think to share my experience to hopefully help other avoid these truly horrible moving companies.

Right A-Way was contacted by a moving broker that I worked with. The pick-up was mostly fine, but the delivery was awful. The entire time, the movers complained about the distance that was required for them to move my stuff from the truck to my apartment. I told them of a long distance carry beforehand and expected to have to pay more upon delivery. The movers were blaming me because they said they likely wouldn't be able to make their next delivery. Nevermind that they showed up two hours later than they said they would and nevermind that they took a 1 hour lunch break. Upon completion of the delivery, I found that not only was every bookshelf I had delivered destroyed, but that I had received items that belongs to another one of their customers. I was also missing boxes that included expensive music equipment, video game systems, and clothing. I've tried contacting the company to at the very least get the items that were incorrectly delivered to me to the correct customers, but they aren't interested in doing that, nor were they interested in finding my stuff.

First off when booking your move make sure you’re not going through a broker!! We loved Right away movers even after reading some negative reviews and Joseph the manager actually answered the phone for us every step of the way lol the guys Andre and Anthony was very professional nice and quick. A job our size would usually take a 4 man crew 2-3 days to do, these 2 guys did it all in ONE day !! The BROKERS (Allstate) did a terrible job explaining the contract it was nothing they said it would be but Andre made it all make sense. The only hiccup was the delivery was supposed to be 3-5 days but it took an extra 2 days. A few scratches and dents but hey it’s moving. We would DEFINITELY recommend Right away movers to anyone just make sure you go directly through them and NOT any brokers !!!

Do not hire this company, if a broker sends them to your house, turn them away. There is nothing good I can say about them and I hope I can keep others from being extorted, bullied and robbed. They lie about how much cubic feet you have and try to add 116 extra cubic feet to every 100 you have because it is “freight”. They change the price and their driver forced me to pay cash to him off the books under threat of taking my stuff and driving away. They did not provide an inventory, and changed the price constantly during pick up. At one point they told me I had 2500 cu ft on a truck that only holds 1750, and the truck was not full. Instead of delivering directly to Texas from Minnesota they took my belongings to their warehouse in Georgia, and I have no doubt they will rifle through them, take what they like and then eventually deliver whatever is left damaged. They will probably demand more money as well before they will give it to me. I cannot express strongly enough how bad this experience was. DO NOT USE THEM I was frightened and bullied by them and I hope I can save others. Be very careful and don’t rely on the positive reviews.

Won't company in the world... we will be pursuing legal actions because the foreman of our job try to extort money out of us on a side deal of the contract and failed to realize since he was inside our house when doing so that everything was being recorded and documented. The foreman proceeded to call the "owner" Joseph and before the owner could realize that we "the customers" could hear him told his foreman to try to get us to cancel our job so that they could just keep our "$5,000" deposit.. this company is absolutely disgusting please don't even think about using them.. movers don't take inventory,they don't wear shoe covers,they will dent walls,show up high..complain the whole time they work... just don't do it.. and Joseph is you're reading this we will see you in court soon:)

All the positive reviews are fake. I can imagine all the 1 star reviews are real considering these movers suck so bad.

They WILL steal your stuff.

They WILL take longer than you were initially told.

They WILL charge more than initially told.

I’m surprised they are even in business, im sure it’s only because trash moving brokers like “MyBestMover” (another trash company) hires them for the cheapest rate.

Zero tracking on the truck

They put your stuff in storage for a month before they actually send it to you, im sure to go through your stuff to see what they can get away with stealing since they’re criminals. Then bring your stuff completely damaged and disgusting.

Joseph, if you see this. You’re an idiot.

(Oh yeah, he blocked my number after I tried to recover a few things that didn’t make it. I was nothing but polite to him in hopes to get my things)

Pick up when ok, I was ready for delivery in April 28 and they delivered in June 20, they arrives at 1130 pm and charge me 15% for delivering that late even tho it wasn’t my fault since they were doing my delivery on June 18 and they were delay until the 20 due to traffic and then they dint had a bolt cutter. Communication was almost non existent and they end up charging $1000 ish more than the original agreement and even tho they took forever and my boxes were broken, one of them was open, my kitchen dinning chairs are all crash and loose. Then last night the driver wanted to charge me the full amount even those I had paid.

Not recommend, they will hired anybody even if the company is bad. They said that it took too long with the delivery because they were two trucks down but dam almost two months!!!. ****please be aware of this company, pretty much all the reviews are negative and for a valid reason***
